World Corporate Golf Challenge began in the United Kingdom in 1993 in association with The Times newspaper, with the intention of providing companies with a tool that would help foster and develop their relations on an internal level (Incentives, Internal Communication, Formation, Human Resources) and external (Clients, Providers, Institutions, Social Environment), through a sports competition with a great media impact.

All this is found in the sport of golf, which, proves to be an exceptional vehicle of business communication.

The inaugural World event in 1997 involved 7 countries. Since then, the event has grown and 19 countries participated in 2006. Since then a further 5 countries have joined, with the USA joining in 2009.

The World Corporate Golf Challenge is the world’s largest and longest established inter-companies golf event. It is an international network of amateur national golf competitions promoted and run by sports marketing organisations (the Licensees) in association with local national media partners. The annual winners from each country compete in the World Corporate Golf Challenge Final, representing not only their company, but their country and their national media partner.

The World Final, held at prestigious international venues, includes extensive media coverage, TV recording, event merchandising opportunities, official Welcome and Gala Dinners. Recent venues for the World Final include: Half Moon Bay, Jamaica; Le Touessrok, Mauritius; Saujana Country Club, Malaysia and La Manga Resort, Spain.
