1. Each team comprises two players.
2. Teams must have a corporate team name and one player must represent that company.
2a. Individuals no longer employed by an organisation, through retirement, may still enter the BRW World Corporate Golf Challenge and, with their clubs permission, use the club name as their team name. (10/9/09)
3. Entry is open to amateur men and women golfers and every player must have a registered Golf Link handicap to participate at each level of the competition.
4. There is no minimum or maximum handicap ruling for Club Qualifying Events.
5. The maximum handicap for all Australian State Finals is 27 for men and 36 for women. Players who qualify on higher handicaps will be reduced to these levels for the Finals Series.
6. All players must be 18 years of age or older to compete in the Australasian and World Finals.
7. For the first 25 teams registered to compete at a Club Qualifying Event (CQE), two teams will progress to the State Final. For every 25 competing teams thereafter, one team progresses to the State Final. For example:

8. Players must make their own transport and accommodation arrangements to attend the State Finals. After payment of your team’s initial registration and payment of entry fees (Club Qualifying or Premium Direct) teams receive air-fares, accommodation, competition fees, some meals and beverages as you progress through the Australasian Final and World Finals.
9. All State Final and Australasian Final teams comprise two players.
10. The format for the State Finals and the Australasian Final will be 2 ball aggregate stableford.
11. State Finals will feature shotgun AM and PM starts. The winners from both the AM and PM fields in each location will progress to the Australasian Final.
12. The First and Second Place teams from Australia in the Australasian Final will progress to the WCGC World Final. These two teams will form a team of four to compete in the WCGC World Final. Note, there will be an Australian team of four and a New Zealand team of four competing in the World Final. Additional Rules & Conditions associated with the WCGC World Final in South Africa will be made available to all State Final teams and appear on our website.
13. One substitute player will be allowed per team if required during the Finals Series. This substitute player must have a handicap equal to or lower than the player they are replacing. All teams competing in a State Final or the Australasian Final must comprise at least 1 person from the original qualifying team. Notification of player substitution must be received in writing by Golf Events at least seven days prior to any Final.
14. In the event of a tie, or ties, the State and Australasian Final winners will be decided by a sudden death playoff. Starting at the 18th hole, the scores of both team members will be added together, the team with the highest stableford points for the hole being deemed the winner. In the event of a tie, the teams will continue playing the 18th hole on the same basis until a winner is found. The team playing first will be decided by a toss of a coin, in the event of three or more teams teeing off, lots will be drawn.
15. All handicaps will be checked before teams commence play and scores will be entered into the Golf Link handicap systems at the completion of your round. Teams entering the Series via Premium Direct Entry will be accepted without a handicap or Golf Link number at the time of registration. Handicap and Golf Link numbers must be provided at least 14 days prior to participation in a State Final.
16. All events will be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Golf. You will be advised of any Local Rules that will apply to the conditions of play, on the day.
17. All State Final events and the Australasian Final will be conducted under the management and control of Golf Events Pty Ltd and the Tournament Committee. Their decision on all matters relating to the World Corporate Golf Challenge will be final.
18. A tournament referee will be in attendance at the Australasian Final.
19. Refunds will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and in no instance will refunds be considered within 14 days of a Finals event.
20. Your registration and payment acknowledges your acceptance of our rules and conditions.
21. All competitors are required to cover their own travel insurance for interstate and international travel.
22. All competitors compete in the World Corporate Golf Challenge at their own risk. Competitors indemnify Golf Events Pty Ltd, the Tournament Committee, sponsors, media partners, host golf clubs and other suppliers of goods and services with respect to any liability for death, injury, property loss or damage incurred during or arising out of any aspect of the conduct of the World Corporate Golf Challenge.
23. The organiser reserves the right to reschedule to an alternate date and/or location in the event of unforeseen circumstances or in the event the course becomes unplayable due to excessive weather conditions.
24. The World Corporate Golf Challenge Australasian Series is approved for the payment of expenses Rule 4-2g/GA-NZG/1/2010.
25. Team entry via Premium Direct Entry ($345 per player) into the BRW World Corporate Golf Challenge Australian Series entitles each player to receive a trial subscription to BRW valued at $70.00 per person. Win a Golfing Holiday to South Africa – Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia. However, employees and their immediate families of Golf Events Pty Ltd, Fairfax Media Publications Pty Limited, Beinteractive Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
3. The competition commences on Wednesday 14 October 2009 at 00:01 (AEST) or 12:00 (AEST) for SA residents only and concludes on Thursday 15 April 2010 at 23:59 (AEST).
4. Every person that competes in a 2009/2010 World Corporate Golf Challenge Australasian Series event will receive an automatic entry into the competition. Entry into the competition is free.
5. Entrants must be 18 years and over to participate and only one entry per person will be accepted.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

10. Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
11. The winner (and their travelling companion) is responsible for all other expenses including spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
12. The winner and travelling companion must travel at the same time, must depart from the same capital city and are responsible for transport from their residence to their nearest capital city for flight departure (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart or Perth).
13. Government taxes are an additional cost to the winners and their travelling companion and are required prior to ticketing.
14. The prize must be taken in full between 1st July 2010 and 30th September 2010 and is subject to hotel and flight availability. The prize is not available during peak times such as public holidays and school holidays and cannot be changed once the booking has been made.
15. Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule. Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.
16. A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner at check-in to the hotels, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.
17. It is the traveller’s personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller/s.
18. Golf Events Pty Ltd, Fairfax Media Publications Pty Ltd and Beinteractive Pty Ltd, make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
19. If the prize becomes unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
20. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
21. Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
22. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
23. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
24. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
25. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
26. Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the promotional period will be entered into the draw. One valid entrant will be drawn at random to become the winner. The draw will take place at Beinteractive Pty Ltd, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000, on Friday, 16 April 2010 at 3pm (AEST).
27. The winners will be notified by telephone within 2 days of the draw and will also be advised of their prize in writing. The major winner will have their details published in the May 2010 edition of BRW on sale on 6 May 2010 and in the public notices section of the Australian Financial Review on Friday, 23rd April 2010.
28. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
29. If required and subject to State Regulation, an unclaimed prize draw will take place at Beinteractive Pty Ltd, Level 9, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000 on Thursday, 20 May 2010 at 3pm (AEST) and the winner will have their details published in the May 2010 edition of BRW on sale on 29 May 2010 and in the public notices section of the Australian Financial Review on Friday, 28th May 2010.
30. The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.
31. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
32. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
33. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.
34. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
35. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
36. Golf Events Pty Ltd, Fairfax Media Publications Pty Ltd and Beinteractive Pty Ltd and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
37. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
38. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent.
39. Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
